Kim Alberts, LCPC, CADC, CARN, RDDP is a registered nurse and counselor working since 1983 in chemical dependency, mental health issues, and trauma.

Kim has worked on in-patient and out-patient mental health units,intensive care units, chemical dependency units, and in private practice working with adults and adolescents.

During this time, she treated hundreds of patients suffering from dual diagnosis, substance dependence and mental illness problems, the effects of drugs and alcohol, traumatic situations due to use of substances, and with the families that are also experiencing these issues.

Kim has a Masters in Health Science in Addictions from Governors State University and is a Certified Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor(LCPC), a Certified Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor(CADC), a Registered Dual Diagnosis Professional(RDDP), and a Certified Addiction Registered Nurse. Over the years Kim has provided counseling services through a variety of areas including a radio show on National Public Radio called “Life Matters”. She has taught as a college professor, a peer educator, and through her work with clients.

Currently, she is in private practice at Associated Counseling in Bradley, Illinois, as well as an online practice at VirtualCounselingNetwork.com.
